Anatolian Hand Woven Nomadic Yahyali Rug
Anatolian Hand Woven Nomadic Yahyali Rug
Yahyali rug
The carpets woven in Kayseri and it's surroundings make up the major part of Turkish carpet art. The Yahyalı carpets fall into the group of Nomadic carpets with medallions and their characteristic feature is that both the wrap and weaving threads are wool. Another characteristic of Yahyali carpets is that they use geometric and flower motives and that all the threads are colored in madder. The dominance of navy blue, red, brown and grey is very clearly seen on these carpets. The traditional Yahyalı rugs can serve a nice accent for neutral coloured rustic and boho interiors and can be combined well with wooden, wrought iron and brass items, and accessories like pillows, lampshades, curtains etc. matching the rug’s colour scheme. They are suitable for a variety of rooms like living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, winter gardens, libraries, offices.
