Anatolian Hand Woven Nomadic Konya-Yatak Rug
Konya-Yatak rug
The tradition of carpet weaving in Konya, former capital of the Seljuks, goes back to the 13th century. This so called 'yatak' carpets are Turkmen rugs, which were used as beds. This kind of carpets are shaggy to hinder the bugs from crawling on. The Konya yatak carpets are very special in their weaving techniques, colours and motives. Both the wrap and weaving threads are wool. Vivid colours and modern motives make them easy to integrate in different interior ambiances. They would fit in to rustic, boho, eclectic and modern even minimal interiors as an eye-catcher. They can increase the value of living rooms, libraries, bed rooms and provide coziness.
